Let's get a bit more personal for this round! This is an interpretative round and it's all about you - the icons made for this round should tell us something about who you are. You can make it deep and showcase your personality traits, which will probably require some creative interpretations, or keep it simple and focus on your hobbies, interests, favorite things or even physical attributes. Select the level of depth based on what you're comfortable with sharing. You can check the examples at the end of the post for some potential interpretations, but there's no right or wrong way to go about this, use your imagination :)
NORMAL MODE: Make 5-20 interpretative icons, each telling something about yourself; characteristics/identity aspects/likes/opinions etc. Please include a short explanation or at least a title to each icon so we get what the icon is about. You may take inspiration from the questions listed below, but are not limited to these; this is your chance to freely tell us about yourself in icon form. HARD MODE: Use the questions below to answer questions about yourself. You can choose the questions freely out of the ones below and make them in any order you like, and make one or more icons for each prompt, as long as the total number of icons is 5-20. Please label the icons so that we know which question each one is the answer to. Think of this mode as if you're filling a friendship book with icons! EXTRA HARD MODE: Do either Normal or Hard mode, but with the extra restriction that each icon needs to have an interpretation other than simply using a subject that fits the trait; instead, there should be a technical interpretation trying to portray these prompts (of course on top of that the character choice can fit the trait as well). So for example, if you want to icon "confidence", the technical execution of the icon should somehow portray confidence, maybe in bold colors or use of a quote that's about confidence, rather than just having a confident character as a subject choice. This mode probably doesn't work with every prompt on the list, so if you attempt this, plan accordingly!
This challenge was inspired partly by the About Me round at the late 20inspirations, and partly by the icontest community your_favourites, which you should definitely check out if you find yourself gravitating more towards the "Favorite ____" questions. Since there is a specific community for these types of prompts, we only included a few in this challenge.
Rules + Create 5-20 icons for the challenge. + Icons must fit LJ standards (100x100px, gif/jpg/png format, 100kb or less) + All icons must be new and made specifically for the challenge + Post either a link to your icon journal post, or post the icons directly to this community (in a new post) + Each entry should have three example icons before the link or the LJ cut + If linking to your icon journal, the post must be public at least until the end of the challenge. + Use title Round 10: yourname + Use tags maker: yourname, round: 10 + Please make an effort to look at and to leave comments to other participants' posts + Deadline: September 30th 22:00 UTC+3 COUNTDOWN
oh man, this reminds me of a fad from my childhood — you'd get a notebook, write out questions of this type on the first page, and then pass it to friends so they could write their answers on another page, decorate with some doodles and stickers and give it back to you........ we'd call it a friend dairy or something like that :D
Also, the first time I ever got detention was in first or second class, cause me and my friend filled out someone else's entire friendship book with answers from random imaginary characters. I had a weird mind/overactive imagination even back then, but looking back I definitely shouldn't have ruined someone's book D:
I remembered the same thing as well. We'd call them slam books or friendship diary and we'd pass them around at the end of the school year for friends and classmates to fill out! it was such a privilege to receive diaries to fill out as well as so fun to read all the things that ppl wrote about you!
