Round 2 is all about the classic battle between the good guys vs. the bad guys - almost every story has heroes and villains, whether they're cartoonish clear-cut versions or more complex anti heroes and villains. Some stories even flip the roles by using villain protagonists and hero antagonists. So on this round you'll get to icon the various heroes and villains in fiction. You have three options for how to do this:

NORMAL MODE: Make icons of heroes and/or villains; choose a side or mix them both in the set, but not in the same icon. Please label which side each icon is for. This is the purely subject-based way to do the challenge.
HARD MODE: Same as Normal mode, but additionally each icon must also be directly inspired by one or more of the inspiration items (the icons, quotes, tropes, palettes etc) given in this post. This is the technically focused way to do the challenge. Please label which side each icon is for and which inspiration items were used.
EXTRA HARD MODE: Explore and interpret the general theme of heroism, villainy and the relationship between them in your icons. What are these things and how do they manifest in your fandoms and characters? This mode is a bit different in that your subjects don't have to clearly fall into the hero/villain categories. You can mix both in the same icon and also explore heroic or villainous characteristics, scenes and actions in any characters regardless of their actual alignment. This is the interpretative way to do the challenge, so you can pretty much do anything that this theme inspires you to do. You don't need to label the icons but feel free to add some explanations, or let the icons speak for themselves - whatever works for you!

Who counts as a hero or a villain? I'm sure this will be the biggest question, but you'll have to make your own interpretation. Many characters even go from one side to the other within the same series so they could count as either depending on which part of the story you're iconing. You'll probably have the easiest time finding obvious heroes and villains from speculative fiction such as scifi, fantasy and super hero stories, but "real world" stories can still be used for this challenge too.

Have fun iconing your favorite heroes and villains! Please ask if you have questions about the rules.
